What Members Thought

LOVED the 80s references (of which there were a ton) and as an arcade junkie from the mid-eighties I actually really enjoyed the gaming aspect of the book. The amount of time it took me to read it is deceptive as it was taken from me by members of the family to "borrow" and read/return. Very fast-paced.

This is one of the best books I've read (or listened to) in a while. It was a lot more fun than I anticipated, and Will Wheaton's reading of it was outstanding. I hope Spielberg does the movie justice. It would be really easy to screw it up, as good as it was.

Man, this one was super fun. Not being a giant video game fan, I think I didn't appreciate this book to its fullest potential, but it was still a fun and fast paced read - a real adventure book.

This book is tons of fun. It had me hooked from the beginning. I loved the virtual world and future world created in the book. But what I really loved was the pop culture references. I was a kid in the eighties. The extent of eighties game, movie, and music trivia contained in this book is unrivaled. It was truly a thrill to relive some of these moments. It is one of the better quest stories around. Just awesome!

Just. plain. fun. I was busy starting a career and a family in the 1980's, and I was never into gaming, so a lot of the material was new to me. I did recognize some of the music and TV references, though, and enjoyed seeing them though Wade's eyes. The ending was a little cheesy, but I didn't mind.
