This was an interesting read for a book club. I remember savoring A Tale of Two Cities but not liking Great Expectations very much. Oliver Twist falls in between the two for me. I liked the story of Oliver and how all the characters tie together, but Dickens does tend to get caught up in the details a bit for my taste. I ended up skimming a lot of the lengthy descriptions of the terrible conditions of the workhouse and children who were forced to pickpocket to support themselves. I hope to glean

Listened to this one on audio. As many times as I had watched the movie, the book was so different (duh!) and so much better.
