I'm not real big into military books, but I saw the author on Conan one night and thought this one sounded interesting. It was. My only complaint was that I didn't always agree with the author's justification for shooting so many "evil" people (as he termed them). I understand that to be a sniper, you can't be afraid to kill - but he seemed to almost enjoy it. It also annoyed me that it seemed like he assumed that just b/c someone doesn't follow Western ideals and laws made them "evil."

I knew nothing about the Navy SEALS until now. I want to pick at the writing while having a bunch of confusing feelings about duty/country/the military/courage and all the things that happened to this guy including his murder. It's nice to shed one area of ignorance, she said dramatically in a Goodreads review.
