This book was really cute! Steampunkish urban fantasy/paranormal humor with a little romance thrown in. I absolutely love Alexia Tarabotti and wish I could sit down to a lovely English tea with her and chat for hours. I enjoyed this immensely, in spite of the fact that it contained SO many elements that should have annoyed the piss out of me. I think the reason I found it delightful instead of dreadful is the fact that it doesn't take itself seriously. Much like Spoiled, Soulless is quite deliberately over the top and ridiculous. Carriger knows that names like Blingchester are ludicrous, just as the authors of Spoiled knew that no sane human names their daughter Arugula.

This was fabulous - a hilarious romp through Victorian London, featuring vampires and werewolves who have been fully integrated into society. I laughed out loud more than I can tell you. Our heroine, Miss Alexia Tarabotti, is a very proper young lady, on the shelf for quite some time. As such she is a bluestocking and does as she sees fit. hahaha so i was looking for my review of this and this is what i said...

Oh just how much do I love Alexia Tarrabotti? SOOO MUCH, this is such a fun series to read, it has it all, dirigibles, exploding parasols, werewolves, vampires and soulless oh my! Trust me if you like fantasy you will just love this series!
