Very dark and gloomy, yet really inspiring especially about life in Japanese culture. No wonder Murakami became one of the best modern classic authors nowadays. He pictured the depressing moments really well. The main character is very likable, although the sexual contents are sometimes a bit too much for my taste. Fortunately Murakami included some dark humor into the sex scenes. I think I would really interested to read more Murakamis.

Each character had such depth I was feeling their feelings with them. Even the ones that we barely see were developed to such an extent it amazed me. While it's true that it's "just another love story" to me it's a modern love story that really tugged at me. In the end it's about choosing life and to live, even when it g ...more
