I didn't actually finish this book; I was reading it on Kindle unlimited but my trial ended. Unfortunately it didn't pull me in enough to want to buy it to finish it.
I thought it was a slow beginning. I liked the ideas in it though. It had a lot of promise but I didn't really like the characters.

This was okay - the middle part dragged for me. It's the story of a young woman whose gone to school to become a magician. In this universe, magicians follow school with an apprenticeship, where they are bonded to a particular type of material which is then the only thing they can perform magic with.
