I didn't actually finish this book; I was reading it on Kindle unlimited but my trial ended. Unfortunately it didn't pull me in enough to want to buy it to finish it.

I thought it was a slow beginning. I liked the ideas in it though. It had a lot of promise but I didn't really like the characters.

This was okay - the middle part dragged for me. It's the story of a young woman whose gone to school to become a magician. In this universe, magicians follow school with an apprenticeship, where they are bonded to a particular type of material which is then the only thing they can perform magic with. In this case, it's paper. Very interesting concept! But as I said, the middle part, where the protagonist is trying to save her teacher's life, dragged. After a pretty good run of books that each took about 2 nights to complete The Paper Magician took a boring 10 days. Mostly because I avoided it and shut the tablet in a draw.
