What Members Thought

My first Harry Hole mystery but I don't think I suffered any from having started with number 7. There appears to be a serial killer in Norway - he kills with the first snow and leaves a snowman behind. The book was definitely an above-average murder mystery and I can see why Nesbo is highly praised. Everyone is a suspect and though I figured out the killer early, I could have easily been wrong. Nesbo, like a number of Scandinavian authors I've read, is very good at giving a sense of place - Oslo

A month or so before I read this book, I read a review somewhere (and I'm now going to try to find it), that talked about how for better or for worse, Jo Nesbo had internalized some of the cliches of American crime fiction--including Harry's relationship with a fellow female detective. A great installlment in the Harry Hole series. This one is particularly convoluted and fast-paced, featuring the disappearances of several women, the snowmen built at the scene of the crime. This one had the proverbial heart-pounding wrap up, so be prepared to be unable to put this down as it closes.

Whoa. That was quite the ride! http://youtu.be/w_NvzboPQCc
