what a great new mystery series. i really like the details into victorian life, Mary is a great new heroine and her tenuous relationship with james is very exciting all gushy romance and womens lib all at once, well sorta since they hate eachother. I am distressed how the book ended and what it did to the possibility of her finding out more about her father i am not sure how lee is going to fix that but hopefully something will come about there.

This was a palate cleanser for me- a book that is a light read that bridges me from one heavy read to another. As such, I don't have high expectations, but I do want it to be interesting and fun. There were some interesting little twists, but overall it was too obvious and too cliche filled for me to forget myself into the book. ...more
