What Members Thought

This is a really hit-or-miss collection; many of the pieces are dull or clumsy, and there are a couple that I couldn't really see what he was trying to accomplish with them. But there are some good pieces - "Chivalry" is fun, "Murder Mysteries" is good (though I have some quibbles with the choice of tense), "Snow, Glass, Apples" is creepy, and "The Goldfish Pool and Other Stories" is truly excellent. This was great - I enjoyed the mixture of prose and poetry. Lots of fun stories in this one.

Read Harder challenge - a collection of short stories (and a bit of guilty pleasure...since I splurged on the audible version, narrated by the author).
This is the first time I've actually read a collection of short stories beginning to end - and in the order the author put them in. Lovely collection. Some I had read elsewhere but most I hadn't. My favorites were The Goldfish Pool, The White Road, The Daughter of Owls, Bay Wolf, and Snow Glass Apples. Also, I ADORED Murder Mysteries. That was my favorite one of the whole lot.

Wonderful. After reading "Snow, Glass, Apples" I'll never be able to read Snow White again and feel the same. Also, could't stop thinking about "The White Road" after reading it. Wonderful retelling of the "Mr. Fox" fairy tale. So many more that I enjoyed, but these were my favorites.
