This was a strong 3.5 for me. The writing, as with any Rowell book, was definitely engaging and so well done. I finished this in one sitting and never felt the urge to put it down -- I was drawn into the lives of the characters and wanted to know how it would all end.

But at the end of the day, I think maybe I need to believe a little more in love at first sight or be willing to just fall head first into the romance part and I guess I'm just not that kind of girl. I kind of found the whole thing ...more

Well, that was delightful.

Took me a little while to get used to the format (which I still hated by the end of the novel), but the characters all had distinct voices, and I really liked all of the different relationships presented.

Also, Rainbow Rowell really has a thing for redheads, doesn't she? ...more

I loved this book. Without giving anything away, I related to what one of the characters went through, and Rowell dealt with it in a sensitive, evocative way.
