I liked Eugenides writing and found the family saga fascinating. I think Eugenides is a fantastic story teller. I found myself wanting to like it more because I had heard people say how wonderful it was, for some reason I wasn't THAT taken with it, but still a good read.

I picked this up because of all the good press about it and because I had liked (but not loved) Virgin Suicides.
Being from Michigan I really loved all the background of the Detroit area and how Eugenides really captured the feel of the area during the Prohibition.

This took me a while to get into, but once I did, I couldn't put it down. Great read.
