I liked it, but it did not blow my mind - I guess the hype maybe made me expect too much? It was a good book and I enjoyed it, but it was kind of like The Da Vinci code, where I felt like I just didn't quite understand what all the fuss was about.

What a fun, thrill ride....once you got past the first 60 pages or so. It was a bit hard going in the beginning, but it definitely picked up after that. I did find the book a bit too descriptive for my taste, but the plot itself was very good.
This book is really dark, but a good read with interesting characters.
Couldn't put his down. Eager to delve into the others!

...hate that I waited so long to read this (I'd heard how hard the first 50 or so pages were to get through - and you know, there are so many books that present no challenges to start!) - LOVED the story, the setting - the characters. Caution - there is some VERY graphic (very ugly) sex "stuff" - but it's done well and it's critical to the story.

I didn't love the beginning, and didn't want to read the book if she ended up shacking up with either of the two annoying male "leads" in the book. I didn't think I was up for the film-noir abuse and entanglement, so I put it down.

It did take me forever to care about anyone in the book, but once it picked up I couldn't put it down. I'll probably read the next one, but I'm not dying to find out what happens next.
