Journeywoman
It started VERY slow. I thought, quite honestly, that I was going to have to put it down. Then, later I really got into it.

I wish that I could give half stars because I liked this book more than 3 stars, but I didn't like it enough for four stars. 3.5 would be just right. Genre fiction, but a genre new to me: liberal, Swedish detective novels. I did enjoy it, though it was disturbing. Perhaps I would have been more prepared if it had been published with the Swedish title: Men who Hate Women.

I always discount books that get a lot of hype and so I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Also, I happen to love the combination of mystery and character development. That said, it is clearly a pulp novel--not the greatest work of recent fiction to be translated into English.

Not nearly as good as all the reviews are saying, but not bad either.
