Very readable half-memoir/half-group biography. Very resonant with me as a single woman in her mid-thirties - I identified with many of Bolick's concerns/stumbling blocks over being a single woman in 20th and 21st century America.

I enjoyed and related to aspects of this book but the author started to annoy me towards the end. Ultimately, I'm not sure if she is really into making a life of her own or if she is a serial monogamist who just does not want to get married. It seemed like she has pretty consistently been in long-term relationships and even had difficulty going two weeks without dating. This is fine but as the book is supposed to be about "making a life or one's own" and essentially being content being on one's
