What Members Thought

I was really looking forward to reading this. I enjoy science books and history-of-science books, and this one comes with rave reviews. But I was disappointed to discover that this is kind of like what you'd get if Erma Bombeck decided to write a science book: lots of interesting (but not highly technical) information, punctuated by just a few too many goofy jokes. Once I recalibrated my expectations, I was able to enjoy the book reasonably well.

This book is fascinating! If you've ever wondered what really happens when someone donates their body to science or how those fancy CSI people actually know the things they do, read this book.

This was fascinating, funny, and at times kind of over the top gross. (I did not deal well with the chapter on cannibalism). But overall, really interesting and entertaining. I had the audio book and really enjoyed the reader - she had exactly the right tone.
