I put this book on my kindle on my husbands request and after he did not read it (still hasn't) I was not about to waste the $12.99 I paid to Amazon by golly and I showed him and read it myself. I read most of it on one plane ride home from Hawaii.

I don't know how Saunders can write from so many differing voices. Most disturbing to me was the concept of immigrants strung up on wire to decorate suburban yards.......if that image doesn't haunt you.....

I listened to this on audio and loved it, and now I desperately want to go back and read it again to see what else I would appreciate in print.
This seemed quite a bit darker than his other short story collections, more violent and scary, but just as imaginative and true and funny and heartbreaking as ever. Warning if reading on the subway: it is possible to cry for the entire last 15 pages or so.
