3.5 stars!
A fantastic adventure story way ahead its time. Jules Verne was a very good writer, and this story, even though a bit flat here and there, can capture the essence of thrilling, wonderful mysteries under the sea, with the mysterious Captain Nemo and his obsession of revenge :)
I would certainly recommend this book to all kids who want to venture more into the classics.

I could not find the exact translation that I read easily here on goodreads and I think it's important to note that I did not read the translation listed. I know there are often discrepancies!
That being said, this book was exactly what I anticipated it being - decent adventure novel with long descriptions of fish and technology (not typically my fav) and the display of gross social mores from the time it was written.
I appreciated it though and would generally recommend for interested folks.
