Three-quarters of this book were AMAZING. Thought-provoking and unique and then the author just sort of ends the book with a whimper and not a bang. There were a lot of unanswered questions (tell me more about Kevin's journey!) and I felt that such a well-written book deserved a much better ending. Amazing yarn, thrillingly written with beautiful, clear prose. I was instantly hooked and read the lot within a day. Amongst the excitement and suspense there was a lot to think about, with no easy answers given, which I appreciate. Surely this has been made into a movie or series. Now to read every one of Butler's books.... ...more

About time I got to this time-travel classic. It's so interesting to read a story about slavery told by a contemporary narrator actually experiencing it. I can see why this is a classic. ...more
