This is a strange and meandering book with scenarios out of dreams and nightmares. It a bunch of stories seemingly jumbled together without a conclusion; more of a book for those who enjoy the journey and the writing, but not if you like something tidily put together. I enjoyed On a Winters Night A Traveler in which this work seems to work in a similar fashion. There is just some amazing passages and imagery used in the book and I just loved it. I’m not sure how I feel about this book. I had no idea what to expect going in and I am not 100% sure of what I read. And I feel like that’s the point.
My edition has 873 pages. I have read 675 pages and I am finally tossing it. Such pretentious drivel.
The characters are boring. Nothing ever comes together or seems to have a point. Life is to short to waste time on this book!
