Quit midway through. The language is truly beautiful, but oy. I can only handle so many tangents with no discernible plot. First half seems to be the over-emotional musings of a boy? young man? with a strangely strong attachment to his mother's goodnight kisses. The second half seems to be about a petty man willing himself into love with a woman lacking intelligence, depth, or even physical appeal to him, and who doesn't love him.
