I thought this book was the best in the series so far. There was a lot that came full circle and it was once again so brutally true to history. I also think she's done a good job building the characters and giving them real, honest human emotions. I like how things that happen in the past continue to reappear because that is how life works. The past doesn't just disappear when you start a new book, but continues to weave through the present. I feel enough closure at the end of this book that I c ...more

Brianna secretly heads to the past to find Claire and Jamie and, once he realizes what she has done, Roger Wakefield goes in search of Brianna. Thus begins a series of events that leads to reunions, first meetings, and deep losses. From the late 1960s to early 1970s in Scotland and America to the late 1760s – also in Scotland and America – we witness time periods filled with significance and turmoil. Man walks on the moon, and the first stirrings of revolution quietly begin.

Summer 2016 Bingo - With any season of the year in the title. My favorite of the series so far; I love where the story has taken us, but I'm not dying to see where we go next. Hence, 4 not 5 stars. It might help if the books weren't quite so long. Fitting 1,000+ pages (or ~50 hours of audio) into my life is something I can only do once a year or so! ...more

Look, clearly I'm invested in this series, but I have to say - the level of inconsistency in narrators, and POV was annoying to me. This one also felt like it meandered a bit and took a while for threads to pull together. ...more

I tore through the first few books in this series a couple years ago. I thought this one would be similar, but it felt extremely slow. Maybe I allowed too much time to pass in between the books and simply lost momentum -- I forgot some of the key plot points, couldn't remember some of the characters and didn't really care about the ones I did remember.

That said, the second half of this novel was thoroughly enjoyable. I was once a total Claire and Jamie girl. Now prefer the storyline about Brian

Another engulfing read in the Outlander series. Nothing can top the first book, but I just love hearing more of Jamie and Claire and Brianna and Roger. Fabulous books on tape.

I went into this one ready not to like it so much after my experience with Voyager but I really did like it. I liked seeing Jamie and Claire living together and establishing roots. The only thing that leaves me a little unsure is Roger's character but I want to read more and find out. ...more

I think one of my favorite in the series. Davina Porter is so brilliant as the narrator! Good Listen.
