What Members Thought

Oof. This book. It was heavy and took me over a month to get through. I liked it, but it was maybe not the best choice to listen to on audio. Definitely found myself zoning out during the more technical parts. I was hoping for something more like Henrietta Lacks - more human interest to balance out the science. This book was hopeful but still realistic about cancer research and treatment.

Bingo - a biography of something I don't like. I thought this was going to be a hard book to read, but it wasn't. I was captivated from the beginning. Mukherjee's writing is clear and easy to follow; I really enjoyed reading and learning. Everyone should read this book, especially anyone who has or knows someone who has cancer (which is everyone these days, right?) ...I can't believe I'm adding another non-fiction book to my Favorites shelf, but this one is for sure.
