I loved this book. It's an enthralling story about a small community in Germany during WWII and the power of books to soothe the soul. I think I am probably the last person on the planet to read this. I'm going to watch the movie and it'll fit my book that's been made into a movie for the Read Harder Challenge.

I never re-read books, but I know I will revisit this book--I love the characters and message so much. I read and listened to the masterful narration of Allan Corduner.

It's hard to say why this book is so wonderful. I'd like to be more like Hans Hubermann. And Liesel too. This book made me cry, and cry out, more than once. It's just so beautiful and sad.
