A lot of my friends on goodreads have read this book and are split pretty evenly between loving and hating it. Therefore I went into this expecting I would not have a lukewarm reaction and that maybe it was just that kind of book. Maybe it was my mood at the time or extreme tiredness, but lukewarm it was. One of the best books I have read..
I do not know what the big deal is with this book. It was kind of boring to me, and I hated the writing style. It wasn't *bad* but I don't think it deserves the crazy hype it's been getting. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood to read a book about WWII.
