I am happy to have read the first two books in the series- they're light hearted fun reading- but I think I'm done with this series now. Just not as much fun the second time around, and I'd rather stop before the fun goes away altogether. ...more

This was an accidental re-read - it was showing up as "reading" on my Kobo, and when I opened it I had no memory of reading it. So I started over and by the time things started to twig I was interested enough to keep reading, because I still couldn't remember how it all turned out. Now that I finished it, of course, I realize that's because this book didn't actually tell me how it all turned out.

Interestingly, even though I'm not changing my rating, I kind of now want to go on to the third book

I think I liked this one even better than the first in this series. The concept behind the novel is great in itself, and add to that a likable character in Thursday Next, plus a fun plot. I'm ready to read the third one. ...more

This makes MUCH more sense after reading The Eyre Affair.
