I am bookwrecked.

What a terrific listen as an audiobook! Thanks to Lin-Manuel Miranda narrating and the excellent writing of Benjamin Alire Sáenz it makes for a great audiobook experience. The dialogue lends itself to be heard in a way that really enriches the listener's experience of this story.

This book is set in my hometown, El Paso, however that is not the only reason I enjoyed it. Ari is a teenage boy who pushes many people away. His brother is in prison and his parents never talk about him. He meets Dante, a sweet kid who loves his parents. This is shocking to Ari, as he doesn’t share his feelings for others and finds it odd that a fellow teenager would so readily admit to loving his parents.
