I'm glad my husband and thirteen year old daughter had read Cinder before I did. Because this book started slowly for me and I had trouble getting into it, yet I ended up really enjoying it. What impressed me most about this book was the way Meyer wove in the Cinderella tale, but still managed to surprise me with some of the twists the story took.

oh man... this book. I figured out the big twisted well before it was reveled, but it seemed like maybe you were supposed to have figured that out. I definitely find the whole premise of this series intriguing, and I'm thrilled that I was not let down my Marissa Meyer's execution of that premise. Now I'm very glad I picked up the next two in this series already! On to Scarlet!

Probably closer to 3.5 stars than 4, really. It was good, but everyone who talks about this series does so in FRENZIED ALL CAPS OF DEVOTION -- I gotta admit I expected more. That damn cliffhanger, tho. I mean, now I have to read the next one.

I figured out the twist immediately and I had some problems with some of the characters, but sure find myself wondering what's going to happen next, so I think I'll keep going with this series.

A very fun re-telling of a fairy tale. Looking forward to the next in the series!
