I don't know if this was just the perfect book at the perfect time for me, but I *loved* this! I was trying to describe to it my husband and I was like, "It's soooo funny! But also really serious and dark. And hysterical! And totally relatable." It pokes fun at the hyper parenting culture we're currently in SO WELL. I just thought the three MCs were all so realistic. Strong, with real character growth. Highly recommend! ...more

Thanks to the folks at Cannonball Reads, who raved about this book. After reading two rather serious pieces of nonfiction (death, death, and more death), this novel set in Australia was just the light but compelling read that I needed. Loved the format of going back to the beginning with the little hints of interviews at the beginning or end of each chapter. Honestly did not see the ending coming, which I like; I hate when I can predict the end. I found all of the characters to be engaging and interesting in their own ways. I also really enjoyed the friend/enemy/frenemy dynamics of all these moms. It felt like a fairly accurate portrayal. No one character was so over the top they became just unbelievable.

I enjoyed this so much more than The Husband's Secret. I might actually be tempted to read more of this author. ...more

This book is a fun read and even though I had already seen the show and knew the major plot twists it was fun to see how it played out in the book. A perfect soapy book that deals with some serious issues.

I need to stop using goodreads lists as a book recommendation service for awhile as this is my second disappointment this week. Entertaining and funny at times but overall a guilty read about serious topics including domestic violence, bullying, murder..

Not for me.
