If you're familiar with Liane Moriary's writing, this is a kind of a darker progression into family life than the husband's secret was. The writing is great and the story is gripping but the book is intense and much harsher than her older novels because it's about domestic abuse. So don't let the flowery cover fool you into thinking this is some cheerful rom com beach lit. It's a more suspenseful story about domestic violence, but true to Moriarty form it does have a happy ending that works and
