What Members Thought

Tina Fey is hilarious in all her comedic pursuits: impersonating Sarah Palin, acting in 30 Rock and as an author. Many parts were laugh out loud funny, and I loved her Mother's Prayer.

I am kinda disappointed with Fey's memoir. Maybe I need her to be cruder, like Chelsea Handler or Samantha Bee, but I don't think that's the issue; it's just not very funny, and the structure is weak. I wouldn't really classify it as a memoir so much as, well, sketches, or extremely loose essays. I have giggled a few times, so I will probably finish it, but that feels more like something I owe to her for being great than because I'm actually enjoying the book.

A little messy and choppy, but funny and an interesting look into Tina Fey's life. The audiobook was really great -- she reads it herself, and it includes the actual original SNL Palin/Clinton sketch!

I'm starting over, this time listening to Fey read it on audiobook. It's still no patch on Samantha Bee's memoir, but it's more enjoyable to me in this format.
