A beautifully written, wonderful story about the life of a geisha in Japan. A must-read.
This was the first book read for my thematic month about Japan and what a beginning! I had already an eye on it since the movie came out, which unfortunately I haven't seen yet, but tried not to read any reviews since I wanted to be surprised and surprised I was.

It was strange but I liked it. Definitely a world I've not read about before with a set of values portrayed so matter of fact it left an impression!

I was expecting a lot from this book, and it delivered. I’m now looking forward to seeing the movie, and I hope they didn’t screw it up.
