So first off, if you haven't read the plot synopsis in the Goodreads blurb, read that and then come back here.

Next, I have to acknowledge that this book is very long - pushing 800 pages in my ebook. In part this is because of the concept that drives the entire thing - there are 12 "core" characters, each of whom embodies the characteristics of a particular astrological sign. This aspect might have been more interesting to me if I could rattle those characteristics off for each sign, but I can't ...more

4.5 stars easily rounded up for this genius work. Meticulous plotting is something of an understatement, and while I ended 800+ pages with some unanswered questions, it was also with a deep sense of satisfaction.

Fascinating story. I enjoyed the characters once they were revealed in more detail in the last half of the book. The astrology references were mostly lost on me.
