I was excited when the Boston book club selected Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling. I had been curious about the book and, as a fan of the Office, wanted to get some details about what happened on set. While I enjoyed the book overall, I wish that it had been more consistent. I kept hearing about how this book paled in comparison to Tina Fey's Bossypants, but found the two equally enjoyable. I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did because the character of Kelly on The Office annoys me. I ultimately decided to check out the book, however, when I remembered that I really enjoyed an article Mindy Kaling wrote for some magazine about life as a single twentysomething living by herself. A delightful funny book. A very quick read as it is not very long.

I won a free copy of this book through a contest on BookRiot and am really happy about it.
Reading it really felt like talking to a best friend.
My only criticism is that it made sad that I will never be Mindy Kaling, which I'm sure is something that she would really love to hear.
