At the risk of making a review of a book about someone else's life all about me, I'm really glad to have seen "Matt & Ben" in the East Village way back when Mindy Kaling was a husky Indian lady pretending to be a dense white man, given how important the play was to her rise to fame and prominence. She comes off as incredibly winning, definitely not an easy thing to accomplish when describing such a rise.

I appreciate Mindy Kaling's work even if it sometimes leads to a groan rather than a chuckle - this book has both, and she's an accomplished woman who isn't afraid to be herself (is that comparable to saying embarrassing things about oneself?)
