Everybody on the rez calls me a retard about twice a day. They call me retard when they are pantsing me or stuffing my head in the toilet or just smacking me upside the head.

I’m not even writing down this story the way I actually talk, because I’d have to fill it with stutters and lisps, and then you’d be wondering why you’re reading a story written by such a retard.

Yeah, okay.

I wasn't prepared for how solidly YA this would be. I expected a c

Sherman Alexie narrates his own audiobook which makes the delivery of every humorous and poignant scene all the more touching. Wonderful laugh out loud moments juxtaposed with heart-wrenching, unflinching, tragic events. Highly recommended.

I have been wanting to read this book forever and finally got to. I read almost all of it over a four-hour period. It was visceral and wonderful and draining and hilarious. I loved it.
