Down to its name, this book is a quirky and sensitive portrayal of the author's childhood as a kid with a disability. Bell is deaf, and this graphic memoir (somewhat fictionalized?) is a both fun and moving look at what it was like to be a student and just a kid in general with a disability in an environment in which there were generally no other deaf kids. Really nice graphic novel about a girl growing up with greatly reduced hearing and a very noticeable hearing aid. In an afterward the author says she wanted to make the reader understand her emotions at the time, and the book 100% succeeds at that.
Cute story about coming of age and making friends when you're faced with how other people view your differences.
