I liked and enjoyed this book a lot. Although when I got to the last page and saw the glossary there I wished I knew about that sooner. The world described and different orders of Clairvonats were difficult at start and I kept coming back to the first page and looked for the voyant in the diagrams.But it got better as I progressed.
Characters mostly are well made and believable . Some times I didn't like page but over ally she was acceptable , maybe I expect too much from a 19 years old girl.And

1.5 stars (only because I actually finished it and had enough interest to see how it was going to end). I won't mince words here. This was one of the worst books I've read in a long time, perhaps since "50 Shades of Gray" (ooh, did I get more people angry at me?) The story starts out with huge amounts of info dumping with a high-concept setting that never really gels together and a made-up vocabulary that seems so out of place and unnecessary, it's ridiculous. I was really excited to read this book after all the glowing reviews I'd seen. I thought the book was interesting, and I liked many of the characters, but it didn't blow me away. The plot is inventive, but not THAT inventive. Some characters were well drawn, while others fell flat. I'll read the next book in the series, but I'm going to get it at the library. ...more

This is really more of a 2.5 star book. It took until about 40% to get interesting. That's too long in general, but this is also about twice as long every other YA book out there. I'm interested enough to read the sequel, I guess. This book is kind of awkward in that it may have worked better as an adult novel. It just kind of straddled the line. ...more
