I did not expect to give this 5 stars, but here we are. As a top-level collection of happiness "hacks" and real expert's happiness research and results, I just found this book so helpful and on point for what I needed right now. I have actually been listening to Rubin's podcast for a while now, so I was familiar with a lot of her ideas; this book brought it all together for me. All this said, there were definitely nit-picky things that bugged me (she tried laughing yoga, but she refused give med ...more

Eh, somewhere between a three and four star book.

I did like the thought put into the project - all the reading and research contrasted well with Rubin's personal experiences. Honestly, I did find the sections of blog comments a bit boring. I chose to re-read this because Rubin has a related book out, Happier at Home, which was published a couple of years ago. I figured if I was going to read that, I might as well re-read this. I really enjoyed this book. I think there is something inspiring in this book for everyone. I wont be starting my own happiness project any time soon, but I can honestly say that this book made me think twice about some of the things I do every day and some of my own patterns. This is a book that I marked in heavily and will enjoy going back and reading my notes and the passages I marked for years to come.

Really gave me some things to think about, since I too sometimes wonder, am I getting as much as I can out of my life and all the amazing things in it?
