I don't really like sad books, but for some reason, Rainbow Rowell doesn't bother me. I think because she's more melancholy than sad and it still feels like there is hope. Plus with this one, it helped that I liked The Lakehouse movie, where there was a magic mailbox. I did figure out how it was going to end pretty early on, but I won't hold that against the book.

I really liked this book. If I had to rank all of Rainbow Rowell's books I have read this year I'd say this one falls in between Eleanor and Park and Fangirl. I always end up reading an entire book on New Year's Day in some frantic paranoid rush to read a book just in case I don't have time during the rest of the year and I'm glad this was the book I read in a day.
