This was really cute. I don't have much more to say than that, but it was a really cute story and I couldn't stop listening to it! ...more

Rainbow Rowell is pretty much a five-star author for me - she consistently writes authentic characters and stories that evoke strong emotions (and a keen sense of relatability) among her readers. Landline is no exception.

I can't even put into words how much I loved (and cried) over this book - given that I'm roughly the same as the MCs, there was a lot in Landline that I could relate to: time period, life experiences, EVERYTHING.

Like Georgie, I met my husband in college and could empathize with

As someone who loved, loved, loved Eleanor and Park and who loved Fangirl, I was surprised to find that I had more mixed feelings about this novel by Rainbow Rowell. There were a lot of things I liked and a lot of potential but there were also some things that didn’t work—some which I noticed while I read and others that began to bug me when I thought about them more afterwards.

There's not much to dislike about Rainbow Rowell's books, other than the fact that I want to read them in one sitting and rarely have enough time to do that. Even though I couldn't read this book in one sitting, I did read it in a little over twelve hours.

Landline is the story of Georgie and Neal, who have been married for fourteen years. The novel opens with the revelation that Georgie can't go with Neal and their two daughters to Omaha for Christmas. She's a writer for a television series and

Shelves: arc
I can't pretend I acted cool when I discovered this book in the ARC box. I was extremely glad no one else was around so I didn't have to fight for it. All it took was seeing the author's name. I didn't read the plot summary, even after I got it safely home. I dove right in and enjoyed every second.

Rainbow Rowell just gets people. And life. And love. Her work so far has been brilliant and Landline is no different.

More review when it isn't midnight and I haven't just completed a marathon session

I don't understand the lukewarm reception to this book. It's not as good as her other ones, but it's hardly a stinker and I whipped through it just as fast as the others. ...more
