I’m not shocked by many people’s reviews of this book, however I am dismayed. Granted, the author does not discuss much about the family “left behind” in the United States, but the poignancy behind the actual story itself outperforms the former.

I found this to be a very moving story of love, faith, trust, and responsibility. I did find at times some of the story to move slowly, but overall it was captivating.

I liked this month's book club choice but just didn't love it. I am glad I finished it though as the ended is the reason I didn't give it less stars :). ...more
