**Some spoilers ahead** Middlemarch was great, but reading it was a little different experience for me. Usually when I'm reading classic novels like this, I find myself fervently rooting for the unlikely couple, the forbidden romance, and the happy ending that comes along with those things. I took this on because several authors I love said this is their favorite book of all time. I really liked this book but the 800 page journey was not easy. I am glad I can say I have read it but will be taking on something way lighter in my next few book choices. When a book has 300 footnotes you know that you have serious work to do.
I do love how this story unfolded. The history of medicine was also an interesting subject.
Cross a literary classic off my list.

Listened to it on Audio. Not sure I would have finished it if I had been reading. Interesting world but at a slow pace.
