If I were going to include illustrations in my rating, this would be a four or five star book. The book itself was charming and evocative. Evocative of other, better authors in my opinion. Meloy was clearly inspired by the writings of Narnia, Wonderland, and Oz, and many of the more intriguing passages were almost lifted straight from those author's works. There just wasn't a whole lot to this one. A likeable enough heroine, an epic battle for control of the woods and some interesting characters made for a quick read. But Narnia fans will be left wanting by fairly dimensionless animal and human characters.

This has been a pretty mammoth fantastical read.
Prue is such a fascinating character , reminding me a little of Wendy from Peter Pan.
Its definitely an adventure of a read as you explore the wildwood with the characters.
