What Members Thought
I did find it a little slow in the beginning and put it down to read other books, but then I got into it and found it hard to stop reading at night.
this book nearly made me through my nook across the room. i hate HATE descriptive writing (like Tolkien...seriously, a hill cannot be described in 11 pages) and this book is full of it. However, once you get about 150 pages into it, it's all good from there. i get that the background and history has to be established, so it's wordy. and it was worth it.
will i read the second in the trilogy? yes. but not for a few months because i cannot spend my entire day reading this book! ...more

The plot flow felt a bit strange to me, until I realized how much the author and the heroine have in common. Then the lengthy descriptions of vintage wines made more sense, although I didn't feel they were necessary to the story. I'm not sorry I read it, but I don't think I'll continue with the series.

It took me awhile to get into this book but once I did, I couldn't put it down! The only bad thing is that it is apparently the first in a trilogy so I have to wait till 2012 to find out what happens next!

Brilliant book. The characters Diana and Matthew are intriguing, exciting and very likable. Can't wait to read the next book in the series when it's released.
