I have to admit, for a lot of this book, I was wondering what the hell happened to the series. I loved the first and second books SO much, and this one was such a disappointment. After the third or fourth repetition of "Fitz gets captured, Fitz in trouble, Fitz escapes, Fitz wanders the countryside", I was almost about to DNF it. But without giving anything away, about 2/3rds of the way into the book, it FINALLY hits its stride. The last third makes the whole book worthwhile. I cried more than o

Nighteyes is definitely my favorite character in the whole trilogy. This wolf has so much depth, and love, and his own wolfy wisdom in him. No other fictional wolf has taken my heart as he has and wrung it about as I read of his hardships and adventures. To Nighteyes!!!
What a fun adventure! At times the writing gets repetitive, but the plot is fast paced and an enjoyable listen.
