So all throughout this book I thought I wouldn't be giving it a great review. I thought, this is my least favorite Liane Moriarty book so far. I thought, I'm kind of bored. All of these statements are still true, however, OMG!!!!!! at that OMG moment. If you've read the book, you know what I'm talking about. Oh this book! It's set in Australia, yes, and in a fictional place that I'm casing out online—that's Manly Beach above—but I'll bet lots of you in the states know the parents of Pirriwee Public school from your own volunteer days with your kid's elementary school and the big mucky-mucks at your PTA. Drama in a small town, adult cliques, moms and dads with all kinds of issues, bullying, single parenting, domestic abuse and more are featured in this book. It kept my interest throughout and I read it quickly, as the writing style from the beginning teases at a murder that happens at the end but since you don't know which character has been murdered and you get to know some of them quite well, the reader definitely wants to know what happened and to whom. Another case of a book I did not think I was going to enjoy, and I was proven very wrong. I loved the format, the interchanging between the story and the detective questioning the school parents. I like that you are making intelligent guesses with the hints dropped through the entire book, until you get to the crucial "trivia night" and then you're so LET'S GO and you start speed reading.
