I can very honestly say that I've never read anything quite like this book. The author almost immediately breaks the fourth wall, and involves you, the reader, in the story. In fact, you ultimately become the protagonist and have many adventures. Along the way, there are many great stories that get started, and, for various reasons, never finished. So I'll be honest - this is one of those books where I respect the craftsmanship of the writing, and I'n glad I finally read this classic of experimental literature ... I just don't know how much I liked it. It was certainly an experience, but I was glad when I finished it.

I really disliked this post-modern, way too stylized book. I tried to follow every story Calvino started then stopped and eventually gave up trying to figure it out. In a weird way, it reminded me of that awful movie Groundhog Day, which I loathed. This was just an artsy-fartsy waste of time.

One of the smartest books I've ever read! Brilliant and exciting :)
