Favorite quote when the little girl reasons that she would rather be a ring bearer in her dad's wedding than a flower girl:

“If you lose a flower, you get another flower," Maya reasons. "If you lose the ring, everyone is sad forever. The ring bearer has much more power.”

I've read so many books this year that I thought could really be improved by trimming 100 pages. This one? I think it needs more pages or different focus maybe on the pages it does have. I love the bookcentric portions of this book, but all the characters got short shrifted at some point or another... Like nothing from Maya a the end? ...more
