What Members Thought

As a writer I'm a harsh critic (and participate in critique groups where the intention is to make a book better by pointing out its flaws) so I don't leave many reviews as they will tend to have a negative slant.
When I see a negative review of my own books they sometimes start out with a comment such as... "I don't normally write a bad review but this book is just so horrific that I had to balance all the good reviews.

a beautiful brutal read. I had seen the film before I had read the book.
I am so glad I read this book , as Cormac McCarthy's writing style is a joy to read.
the relationship between the pa and son is touching & reassuring as they continue their walk across the country.
its a book that everyone should read , its a heartbreaking story that will leave an imprint that you'll never forget. ...more

I could not get interested in this book. The blurb on the back made me pick up this book, but the writing style made me put it right back down. There are far too many good books in the world to waste time reading things that just can't hold my interest.

There are definitely better post-apocalyptic novels out there. This one just didn't really do anything for me.
