Este libro se compone de una serie de cuentos donde el autor narra hechos de la vida cotidiana del Dublín de su época.
Dichos cuentos son bastante variados, con diversos protagonistas, de distintas situaciones y épocas de la vida también.
Crítica
No fue de mi gusto. En pocas palabras, esperaba más. Las historias no me engancharon, no fueron de mi agrado, aunque se nota que el autor es un gran narrador que domina el lenguaje.

The inner narrative Joyce became known for is obvious in short bursts. Fourth star due to the beautiful prose of the last page.
Didn't really love or hate this book. Didn't really bring up any emotions for me (except for messages in the very last story, maybe. Or maybe I was just glad to be at the end.). I actually restarted it about 3 times each time forcing myself to try to "get through it"/ "to give it a chance". I'm really interested in things Irish and my dream trip has been to go to Ireland but I didn't really find any connections to the characters in this story and was almost bored and distracted at times. Well, this was some interesting snippets into life of individuals in Dublin ... but I didn't really see the "point" to the story. Not that it has to have that ... just there wasn't much to pull it together. I kept wondering what this book was actually about, and my question wasn't really ever answered. Still, it was a bit of an enjoyable read, as I especially enjoyed spotting references to places in Dublin I had been last year.
